Barry began his glazing career in 1985 when he joined the Glazing Union #1940 apprenticeship program in Atlanta, GA. There he learned to install and fabricate storefront. In 1995 he relocated to Charlotte, NC and began working for a major glazing contractor where he expanded his knowledge and skills of storefront fabrication and installation. He was soon promoted to estimator within the same company. When this company moved their operations out of the Charlotte area, Barry, Tom, and Dale made the decision to form a bond and go into business together. On June 2, 2002 UNITED GLASS & METAL, INC. was born. Barry has enjoyed a successful career for the past 23 years in the glazing industry. |

Tom began his glazing career around 1968 when he emigrated from Scotland to Toronto, Canada and joined a Glazing apprenticeship program. After about 10 years he made the decision to move to NC where he became a project manager for a major glazing contractor. To further his knowledge and skills he attended the Kawneer Architectural Metal Products mechanical training course in Atlanta, GA. When the contractor decided to move their operations out of the Charlotte area he, Barry, and Dale formed UNITED GLASS & METAL, INC. on June 2, 2002. Tom is still enjoying an on-going 40+ year career in project management with several successful achievements to his claim. |

Dale began his glazing career in 1995 when he became fabricator for a major glazing contractor in Charlotte, NC after working for 10 years as a forman & mechanic for a textile plant in Gaston County. Over the next 7 years in the glazing industry, Dale learned all aspects of fabricating aluminum storefront and installation of glass. Upon this contractors decision to move their operations out of the Charlotte area Dale, Barry and Tom formed UNITED GLASS & METAL, INC. on June 2, 2002. Since the formation of United Glass & Metal, Inc. Dale has honed his skills not only as a fabricator, but also as a project coordinator. Dale has culminated 13 successful years of experience into becoming an integral part of every day operations at United Glass & Metal, Inc.. |
